New single out now
Les Voix Humaines, is the first release from our upcoming album ceasing.
Dedicated to our grandparents in the season of remembrance, ceasing is a sequence of musical memorials - an invitation for deep listening and personal reflection.
The album fuses our choral-electronic programme - featuring expansive soundscapes by Jonathan Harvey and Joe Bates - with music from our Voicing Loss project, exploring the role of ensemble singing in the journey through loss.
Piers Connor Kennedy’s arrangement of Les Voix Humaines features this extract from ‘A Prayer’ by American poet Sara Teasdale:
When I am dying, let me know
That I loved the blowing snow
That I sang as children sing,
Fitting tunes to everything…
We love how Piers has woven this beautiful text alongside this well-known viol piece and hope you enjoy discovering it for yourself.
Full album release on Friday 6 November.
